We connect and educate (not only) Housing First implementers
Together with the Housing First support team from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, we provide methodological support to workers who lead individual Housing First projects or directly house clients. Our goal is to ensure that the programs are of high quality, in line with the latest findings in the field, and that the Housing First approach can continue to develop in Czechia.
Why is this necessary?
Housing First is an approach that is still relatively new in the Czech Republic and brings with it not only new procedures for housing homeless people, but also a whole range of new general principles for social work, a change in the perception of clients, and a change in thinking.
Implementers often have no experience with Housing First and approach this method intuitively. This can reduce the likelihood that tenants will remain in housing. With this in mind, the idea arose for a project to provide external support to those who are putting the Housing First approach into practice.

What we do
We offer training on the topic to implementers through accredited courses, the Housing First Autumn School, and webinars. We also provide consultations on preparing new projects or, for example, on resolving individual client cases.
We ensure that individual implementers learn from each other. That is why we organize conferences focused directly on Housing First and prepare excursions around the Czech Republic and abroad. We also organize regional meetings where teams have the opportunity to meet and share their experiences with each other.
In order for implementers to improve the quality of services they provide to clients, we evaluate the quality and effectiveness of individual projects. In addition, we also monitor the extent to which individual projects remain faithful to the original principles established by Housing First founder Sam Tsemberis.
